The Collections
The AW 2011 Jade Kang collection is inspired by Contemporary Digital Art Design from small, screen-based graphics to large scale interactive installations. Colour and differing texture on fabric surface in strap-shaped blocking is used in the building body construction. This reflection of digital design creates a work that is poetic, emotional and poignant.
Each design is created with futuristic graphic paneling, understanding muscle definition for contemporary femininity, contrasting this hard construction built with colour blocking panels with the softer side of Romanticism using silk chiffon and velvet draping.
The balance of hardness with softness is created through this urban style femininity and romanticism combined with a light fetishism using straps waisted, around shoulder and arms.
Futuristic sexism is shown through using the shimmer of metallic material against a soft and matt surface.
With grayish magenta as the point colour, a large range of gray’s are vital in keeping the balance between feminine and masculine with variety provided by the other key colours of burgundy and coral red.
